Arranging a Baptism

Step 1: Arrange a meeting

Contact the Parish Priest, Fr Geoffrey Plant, on 9427 2509 to arrange a meeting. It is not necessary for both parents to be present at this meeting, nor do you need to bring any documentation with you.

Step 2: The meeting

The meeting with Fr Geoffrey will be an opportunity to see what dates are available for the Baptism and to collect the forms that you need to complete. Fr Geoffrey will also explain what happens prior to the Baptism and answer any questions that you might have.

Baptisms are celebrated at St Michael's on most Sundays at 11.30am. Baptisms are not celebrated within a Mass, and the ceremony lasts for about half an hour. We try to avoid having more than three children baptised at the same ceremony.

Step 3: Presentation to the community

At one of the Masses on the Sunday prior to the Baptism you will present your child to the Parish community. This is the first part of the Baptismal ceremony, and a reminder that baptism is a welcome into the Christian community.
