Celebrating Confirmation 2018
Information Evening
There will be two information sessions for parents and carers of candidates receiving the sacrament of Confirmation in 2019. The first will be held in St Michael's Church on Tuesday 9 April 2019 at 7.00 pm for parents of St Michael's School students. The second session for parents and carers of candidates attending local State and Private schools will be held on Thursday 12 April 2019. The session will run for approximately forty minutes. Candidates are not required to attend the information evening, only their parents or guardian.
Confirmation Mass Date
This year the Sacrament of Confirmation will be celebrated at St Mary's Cathedral on Sunday 2nd June at 3.30pm. The Mass will be for all 2019 candidates from our Parish.
Please note the children at St Michael's Parish celebrate their Confirmation in Year 6 or above. They are required to have made their first Reconciliation and first Communion before receiving Confirmation.
Presentation Masses
Candidates making their Confirmation are required to attend one of the weekend Masses at St Michael's (Saturday 6.00 pm, or Sunday 9.30 am or 6.00 pm) on 4 or 5 May, 2019. After the homily Fr Geoffrey will invite the candidates to come forward with their photo form. The Parish Community then prays for the candidates as they begin their preparation to celebrate the sacrament. The forms are collected and photographs of the candidates are displayed in the church in the weeks leading up to the celebration.
