Celebrating First Reconciliation (First Confession) 2017

Information Evening

The information evening for first Reconciliation will be held in St Michael's Church on Thursday 20th July 2017 at 7pm. The parents or guardians of candidates celebrating their first Reconciliation are asked to attend the information evening which will run for approximately 40 minutes. Candidates do not attend the information evening, only their parents or guardian.

First Reconciliation Dates

Reconciliation will take place over ten separate sessions from Monday 14 August through to Friday August 18, 2017. The first session is at 5.00pm and the second at 6.00pm on each of those days. Each session is restricted to twenty candidates and takes approximately 30 minutes. Candidates are to remain for the whole of the session.

Please note the children in St Michael's Parish who are baptised in the Catholic faith celebrate their first Reconciliation in Year 2 (or above). They are required to have made their first Reconciliation prior to undertaking their first Holy Communion.

Presentation Masses

Children making their first Reconciliation are to attend one of the weekend Masses at St Michael's (Saturday 6.00pm or Sunday 9.30am and 6.00pm) on July 29 or 30, 2017. After the Homily at Mass Fr Geoffrey will call the candidates to come forward with their Photo Forms. The Parish community then prays for the candidates as they begin their preparation to celebrate the Sacrament. The Photo forms are collected and displayed in the Church in the weeks leading up to the celebration.
